Zach
The
first critique examined the blog of Zach Robinson. After looking at a few posts and examining
the blog site as a whole, the site was not too bad. The summary of basic day to day weather seemed
to be up to standard and I enjoyed the pictures that were posted as well. They were from radar images of weather in all
of the United States. I would also like
to include a picture of Eau Claire area for a better look at what is going on
in the local area. I feel this would
better explain the weather that is currently occurring on a particular post. As for the layout of his blog, the format
worked with what he wanted to accomplish.
However, I was a little confused on the national geographic page; I did
not see the connection. Sweet images
though.
Kristin
The
blog of Kristin Cupp was next on the list.
I favored the way she designed the layout. The maps she included on one of the pages
were insightful. The surface temperature
was a very interesting way of looking at the campus. It was amazing the variation that occurred throughout
the area. The links she included were
very helpful and gave me some ideas of where to go to look for information
about weather. Accuweather.com seems to
be a trendy and helpful website. Some more
links could have been helpful to look for information as well.
Joel
Joel
Albrecht was another blog that I observed.
His seemed descent, however, his descriptions seemed to be short. He did add some great images of radar for the
weather. I also like the pictures of the
many different types of clouds he included.
This would be helpful for the untrained eye in weather. The videos of the tornadoes were neat to look
at as well. I think the more web pages
one has the better. More sources to
evaluate information.
Ben
Ben
Possi’s blog was pretty well done and had a good amount of maps that showed the
dew point as well as the temperature in the UWEC campus. I enjoyed the pictures
he took himself of clouds from an airplane and the sweet sunset in New York. He did not, however, post blogs every day and
seemed to miss a good amount of days some months. However, the days he did blog they seemed thorough
and clear. The video of the northern
lights was also very cool. The way he
listed the current conditions was helpful to know what the weather conditions
were at that time.
Brittany
Brittany’s
weather blog was very pink. I would
guess that is her favorite color. But
regardless her layout I did like and I did change my blogs layout to place the
tabs on the left side rather than the right.
Her description of the weather wasn’t all bad. The posts were a little short and some contained
little description of the weather. Some
maps she created did not have a backdrop of the Eau Claire campus. Not a big deal but it adds to help the viewer
know where things are. She had little
data analysis and only a few links on her page.
I did like how she linked the name to the website. Good feature for reference.
